We begin the evening at 6:50 with a Sound Bath facilitated by Lauren Waggoner. Think of it as a relaxing way to focus and prepare for the service. Our services will be led by Craig Taubman and Valerie Stern live from the Pico Union Project alongside their zoom team Stuart K Robinson, Rabbi Deborah Bock Schuldenfrei and special guest poet Rick Lupert (with Addie and Jude) and video appearances by Daniel Cainer and master Shofar blower David Zasloff Join us at the Sanctuary@Pico Union, as together we go deeper and higher.

Prayer services will begin promptly at 10:30 but you won’t want to miss a beautiful video history of Los Angeles in 1919. Produced by writer and historian Edmon Rodman this extraordinary video revisits the early years of the Jewish Community of Los Angeles and the cities struggle with the Spanish Flu. Yom Kippur services will be led by Craig Taubman. Leeav Sofer and Valerie Stern live from the Pico Union Project, alongside our zoom team with new mama, Cantor Shanee Zamir and Stuart K Robinson as well as Rabbi Bill Kaplan from the Shalom Institute. Rabbi Scott Westle and Quinn Lohmann will “return again” for an uplifting Torah service together as will Rick, Addie and Jude Lupert. We’ve created some beautiful videos including a new song “Yizkor” composed for the Holy Days by Craig and Gabriel Mann. We are honored you have chosen to join us for a morning of poetry, prayer, mediation and return.
