The strain between law enforcement and communities of color is no secret. And yet within our own Pico Union Project community we have been blessed with a spirit of trust and partnership. From day one we took our “love your neighbor” motto seriously and made sure that officers from the Rampart division were active participants in programs such as Vida Sana, Keep it Clean and Shabbat Table.
Before you can love your neighbors you need to know them and so we are grateful to the16 Rampart officers who joined us last week for the Faith and Blue food distribution and community clean up. The fresh produce, pizza and clean streets were a welcome step in building cooperation and good will. Sign up for next month’s Faith and Blue by sending us an email.
