COVID-19 has impacted millions of people around the world. At-risk communities such as the Pico Union suffer disproportionately. This week there were five additional COVID deaths in our community. To date 459 neighbors have lost their lives to the virus. The reason for this shocking number is simple – limited taccess to money, fresh food, supermarkets and clean air, health care and testing.
Thanks to the remarkable generosity of Cedars Sinai Medical Center on December 18th, the Pico Union Project will host a community flu Clinic. The free vaccines will be administered along with fresh produce to help our families celebrate the new year with joy and good health.
