Volunteer
What Do We Do?
The Pico Union Project was founded on the principle to “love your neighbor as you wish to be loved”. For ten years we’ve loved our neighbors by providing jobs, food, education, and programs that create healthy and vibrant individuals and community.
How We Do It?
With people like YOU! We’ve been blessed to host thousands of volunteers and hundreds of groups including, Warner Music, Tesla, United Talent Agency, CANVA, United Way, Ernst and Young as well as students from Loyola and De Toledo High Schools, USC, and Claremont Colleges. We’ve worked together with groups from China, Israel, France, and Germany as well as neighbors from around the corner. Our currency is generosity, and it works because of people like you.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, strengthen connections for youth groups and classes, build company team spirit, and repair the world one person, and one day at a time.
What Can I Expect?
A hands-on, uplifting opportunity to repair the world.
Vida Sana
Join our weekly Friday Farmers Market featuring fresh produce, prepared food, and health services for hundreds of Pico Union Community families. Volunteers join us at 9:00 to sort and distributing items and end the day with a festive lunch.
Gardening
Join us for a morning or afternoon of gardening in our thriving two-acre garden. It’s a chance to weed, plant sweat and bloom! Gardening opportunities are available weekdays and weekends and always include a tasty community meal.
